God's Focus
You are important. I know it can be hard to believe sometimes but I promise you that you are undeniably important & worth something.
You were put in this world for a purpose. There is no doubt about it in my mind.
You are worth something (D&C 18:10). Worth more than gold. Worth more than that Coach bag or whatever shoes you bought yesterday. You are worth more than you will ever know.
Do you want to know how I know this? Because though I am imperfect, I was created by a perfect being and though I do not know everything I was created by an all knowing God.
Amazing isn't it?! How all of us who have been, are, & will be on the earth were created by the same God. We were all made in His image & He loves each and every one of us and He knows each & every one of us by name. When He spoke to Joseph Smith in the Sacred Grove He wasn't like "Hey you with the face I need to give you something!!" No!! He spake unto him "calling [him] by name..." (JSH 1:17). And as The Lord speaks to us He calls each of us by name too & a God who did not love us would not call us by our name, heck He wouldn't even know them.
Now think about art for a second. Pictures you take or you draw. Maybe not even ones you do but ones someone else does. They seem so perfect to you, yet how perfect are they really?
Look at this picture.
Think to yourself:
What is it?
Is it art?
What was it supposed to be?
Was it meant to be art?
Now let me answer some of these questions with a story:
I am taking an anatomy class in college this semester & one thing we study is cells & tissues. As we were studying them we decided they looked cool so we were going to take a few pictures of the cells for future reference & because heck, they looked awesome!! I struggled getting the camera to focus as my hands kept moving so I would take multiple pictures of the cell & keep the ones I wanted & then delete the bad ones. This went in the whole class & I ended up getting some awesome pictures.
Here are some good cell pictures.
Now back to that top picture. It was definitely not what I was going for. It's not a cell. It's more of the inside of the microscope. It's a mistake. It's not focused on the cell, it's honestly not focused on anything. But I did not delete it. Why? Because it is still art.
Look at yourself. Are you the perfect picture? No. Do you make mistakes? Yes. Are you always completely focused on the correct thing? No. But does The Lord give up on you & delete you? No.
Just because you mess up & make mistakes does not mean you are not important or worth it. You have a purpose.
YOU ARE ART.
You were made in His image for heavens sake!
Don't short change yourself because you are sidetracked for a second. The end result can still be just as beautiful!!
