Still Alive & Kicking
I've always been told that soccer is going to be the death of me and in all honesty it might be, but that's probably the best way to die in my book. I'd love to go playing the beautiful game.
About a month ago I took a ball to the head and it has been nothing but a downward spiral since.
First I had a massive headache. All night. Then the next day. So I went the doctor. Shocker, I had a "minor concussion" but he didn't want to call it that so he didn't.
A week later things got worse as my memory went down the drain. I couldn't remember getting from point A to point B. I went to the doctor again and was told that maybe this was worse than we thought. I got an MRI and an EEG. Results came and things got even worse.
According to my MRI I am normal or as normal as a Skinner can be. BUT according to my EEG I am experiencing minor seizures which could even be classified as me just zoning out for a short period of time. To be completely honest I'm not even sure when these are happening. We just know that they are happening and that they are definitely not good.
So an update on my health. I go see a neurologist in a month and we will figure all these brain shenanigans out. Until then no driving for at least 6 months, and I have to increase my migraine medication to help with my seizures as it is also anti-seizure medication. Focusing and simple tasks are also slightly more difficult than normal but I'm getting things done.
I really do appreciate all the help that has been given to me and my family on my behalf so thank you!!
On a good note, soccer hasn't killed me yet!! :)
Definitely keep those seizures under control. .... well, as under control as you possibly can. They're nothing to mess around with!
