SUPER Sonic
It was June 2013 when I sent in one of many applications to Sonic hoping that one of the applications would turn into a job. I didn't even know if I would stay in California but I needed a job and Sonic was definitely a place I enjoyed eating at. I then received a call, had an interview and got my first job as a carhop for Sonic Drive-In for the upcoming San Marcos store! Considering this was my first job I was extremely nervous but things went well enough for them to keep me this long :)
Sonic has given me so many amazing opportunities as I have trained at 3 stores and worked at 5 of the 9 locations here in southern California. I have also had the amazing opportunity to help with orientations at the corporate office and I am very well known among many of "big" people in the corporation.
I have learned how to skate with food, talk to people and actually enjoy it, make loads of ice cream (and to be honest I actually love this part), and work with people with different views and insights.
I have made some amazing friends and I am honestly so blessed to have had these opportunities present themselves in my life so I could grow.
Through the past year and 9 months I have been blessed with a job that not only gave me money to pay for school and other things, but I have been blessed with a job that taught me so much about working hard and loving to do it.
As I left my store today I was filled with both joy and sadness.
Joy because I couldn't ask for a better door to have opened itself up to me for further progression.
Sadness because all those I have met in the past and all those I have worked with definitely left a lasting impression and I will miss them all.
It was my pleasure to work at Sonic for the last 2 years, and I can't wait for the super sonic things that await :)
